Such a cool idea—really impressed by the thoughtful approach and innovation here. I’ve filled out the form and am excited to try it out. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves!
This is a great idea, Ryan. You are solving such a major problem we run into here on Substack. There's no easy system for highlighting our work to new subscribers. If they could just ask any question about our archive...wow. Can't wait to try it out.
This is such a smart idea. I sometimes stumble across Substacks with a goldmine of content, but realistically, I just don’t have the time to dig through dozens (or hundreds) of posts. A tool like AskSubstack would be super helpful to quickly surface what’s actually relevant to me. That’s genuinely useful. Looking forward to seeing more of your practical AI builds. Really inspiring.
Glad to hear you find AskSubstack useful Luan! Which Substack newsletters would you like to chat with? I can add it to my list of newsletters to prioritise :)
Glad you like it Eugene! I started with open-source models but to keep deployment free, there’s a limit to what I can load. I am using a 4o-mini so that it’s relatively cheaper to run.
Will definitely try using open source models again this week :)
I really enjoyed reading this, thank you so much for sharing the full journey: what worked, what didn’t, and everything you learned along the way.
Shipping in one week? Working until 4 a.m.? Major respect 🙌 I can feel your excitement through the screen. I’ve had that same “I can’t wait to work on this” energy with some of my own projects, it’s the best kind of fuel.
This feels big and meaningful. It might take time for people to fully grasp its value, but I believe it’ll resonate more and more over time.
I’ll definitely be following along, I’m excited to see how it all unfolds.
Just saw this but thank you for the support Jenny! Really appreciate it and super glad we connected. It's always great meeting cool, likeminded people like you. Let’s definitely stay in touch and keep building! 🚀
Hi Ryan. I also would like to try it with my substack https://wonderlead.tech . I was planning to build my own but if you already created one I would love to support your project.
Hi Ryan, I’d love to try your new chatbot on sixpeas.substack.com and see what it pulls up for AI ethics and questions like trust!
Amazing Karen, will reach out privately about the chatbot :)
I really like and enjoy reading this and I can't wait to see how amazing this turn out to be.
Glad you like it Sae! More updates this week :)

Sure!

I missed this comment but glad you find it useful Alex! :)

This Substack helped me a lot when I started my writing journey about AI. I think it's great for others too.
Noted! Something coming soon this week and I will include it in the mix :)
Wow, Ryan! AskSubstack is awesome!
Love both the implementation and the design, thank you for sharing!
Are you using an OpenAI model for responses or perhaps an open source one?
Do you know if it's possible to deploy a project like this using Llama for free, for example?

This is awesome, thanks for sharing! The ability to chat with someone else's stack is seriously leveling up Substack' content discoverability.
In my Substack roadmap post, you'll see so many people calling out discoverability as the weak spot, this nails it (for content).
And I really appreciate your entrepreneurial energy! 🤗
Thank you Karo! I am glad you like the idea of it and it’s good to hear that this might helpful with content discoverability for readers! 😊
